Greensprings School, a leading British international school in Lagos, received less than five hours of grid power on a daily basis. When power was available, it was of poor quality. Given the power issues, the school had to constantly run on diesel generators. However, the generators were often breaking down due to long lifespan, leading to poor uptime. The school’s power costs were high due to diesel consumption and generator maintenance.
Daystar Power installed a 700 kW solar hybrid system with 1.5MVA generator capacity. Not only did Greensprings drastically cut its power costs, it has consistently available power and lower diesel emissions and pollution.
